OPLAN Exodus: The Blame Game

Evidence seems to be mounting that the country’s political leadership had a hand in delaying the deployment of reinforcements to the pinned-down Special Action Force (SAF) commandos until it was too late. Former Iloilo solon Augusto Boboy Syjuco points out inconsistencies in the accounts of Administration officials as well as key military and police officers who were involved in Oplan Exodus. Meantime, Kabataan Party list congressman Terry Ridon exposes the Administration’s supposed moves to stop the congressional inquiry on the tragedy which cost the lives of 44 elite police officers.

Syjuco and Ridon dropped bombs of their own in the tell-all talk show General Assignment, which may eventually rock the very foundations of the embattled Aquino Administration. The two Administration critics appeared separately on the February 4 and 18 episodes of the program.

General Assignment’ is a free-wheeling, yet sometimes hard-hitting talk show which seeks to get to the bottom of the hottest national issues of the day. General Assignment, which is aired over Philippine satellite and cable channel Global News Network (GNN), is hosted by Home Defense Journal editor Miguel Gil.
